DETAILED PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Periodontal scalers are essential tools in dental care, primarily used for scaling and root planing to maintain oral health. These instruments come with different shapes and sizes of working ends, with a narrow tip designed to access tight spaces between teeth. The supragingival scaler, featuring a triangular cross-section blade, is specifically designed for the removal of supragingival calculus. It should never be used subgingivally. The instrument requires a modified pen grip and must be kept sharp for optimal performance. While ultrasonic scaler tips have largely replaced manual scalers in veterinary dentistry, these tools are still widely used for effective plaque and calculus removal.

The blades of periodontal scalers have scraping edges on both sides, allowing them to adapt to mesial and distal surfaces of the tooth. For optimal results, the working end of the scaler should be slightly angled toward the tooth surface. Hand scalers are particularly effective in removing large, bulky supragingival deposits and are highly efficient in cleaning interproximal areas. The design of the scaler's shank allows easy access to all anterior and premolar surfaces. Manufactured with superior heat treatment, enhanced finishing processes, and optimized steel, these scalers are durable, thin, and feature a contra-angle design with a single-ended, easy-grip handle.

Direction for Use

1. Adaptation: Position the first 1-2 millimeters of the lateral face of the working end in contact with the tooth surface to ensure proper adaptation.

2. Angulation: The instrument should be angled at 70º-80º to the tooth surface for optimal efficiency when scaling.

3. Use: Apply controlled strokes, keeping the scaler angled toward the tooth surface, to effectively remove supragingival plaque and calculus deposits.
